Founded in 1970, El Proyecto del Barrio is a nonprofit organization providing bilingual/bicultural comprehensive community services and advocacy in the areas of drug and alcohol prevention and treatment, job training and employment, primary health care, and education. Their primary target population is Latino and other economically-disadvantaged youth and adults in the San Fernando Valley. El Proyecto's programs and services also include health education, family health care clinics, a perinatal service center, youth services, an early intervention program, an outpatient drug-free program, and a community resource center.
