La Casa de Esperanza, Inc.
La Casa de Esperanza is a nonprofit organization that provides the Hispanic community with avenues of growth to participate fully in society, and serves as a liaison between the Hispanic community and other agencies. It accomplishes this through services such as a senior center, youth programs, preschool/daycare, employment and training, weatherization, elderly/handicapped low-income housing, women’s programs, English-as-a-Second-Language classes, and transportation. Children, Family, and Youth Services provides bilingual daily care, second shift (until midnight), and mildly ill child care services for up to 300 infants, toddlers, and preschool children. Bilingual after-school program, recreational activities, educational services, academic tutoring, and career development are offered for children and youth. Workforce Development Services offers recruitment, placement, retention, remedial education, and skills assessment to assist individuals in securing stable and family-supporting employment. Outpatient Clinic offers bilingual counseling, education, evaluation and testing for drug dependency problems, mental health issues, and HIV prevention to individuals, groups, and families. Other services include health assessments, lead screening, immunizations, and regular health check-ups through Waukesha Memorial Hospital. Weatherization Services provides home improvements and repairs to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy costs for low-income homeowners in Waukesha, Jefferson, and Milwaukee Counties. Senior and Housing Services, the 71 unit-housing complex, is home for low-income elderly and disabled individuals. |
