Latin American Civic Association
Founded in 1960, Latin American Civic Association (LACA) is a multicultural agency. Its mission is to help the Mexican/Latino community become self-sufficient socially, economically, and politically. It is the oldest Latino agency serving the San Fernando and Santa Clara Valleys. LACA, as a Head Start delegate agency, is committed to providing cost-effective quality educational, health, and parent involvement services exceeding Head Start standards to children, parents, and families, regardless of race, color, or creed. LACA utilizes the best education philosophy available in the classroom to develop self-esteem, self-worth, independence, and problem-solving skills in children and parents. It trains families to become empowered and enhances parent/community involvement in education, thereby breaking and eliminating the cycle of poverty. In addition to Head Start, LACA also offers programs in health, social services, mental health, and for children with special needs. LACA firmly believes that all children, parents, and staff should have the opportunity to be successful. |
