Founded in 1990, the Latin American Coalition’s (LAC) mission is to empower the Latino community by providing enhanced information and education initiatives that will promote full Hispanic participation in the Charlotte Mecklenburg region. The Latin American Coalition serves as an information referral resource that links their clients with needed social services organizations. LAC provides a free tutorial program to ESL students in three CMS schools. Over 200 children have benefited from this program. LAC also offers job bank and job preparedness skills workshops, cultural awareness workshops, and advocacy workshops to the Latino community at large.
