The principal purpose of Mujeres Latinas en Acción is to provide social services to Latinas to enable them to be more self-reliant and better able to negotiate the many institutions they interact with, and to enhance the quality of their lives. It provides pre-employment counseling, domestic violence prevention, counseling, and emergency and other social services to women, youth, and families. Mujeres also operates an innovative two-phase, Spanish-language community leadership development program for Latinas.
