Resurrection Project
In 1990, driven to action by the blight and crime infecting their streets, six parishes in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood each contributed $5,000 in seed money to start an institution-based community organization to help area residents address these problems. Seventeen years later, The Resurrection Project (TRP), founded with a mission to build relationships and challenge people to act on their faith and values to create healthy communities through organizing, education, and community development, has leveraged that initial $30,000 to over $146 million in community reinvestment in the neighborhoods of Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards on Chicago’s southwest side. |
