The YWCA El Paso Del Norte Region is an association of members dedicated to building community by promoting racial justice, providing high quality programs, leadership development, and advocating for and supporting women and girls to help them realize their potential. The YWCA’s Homeownership Center is a subdivision of Consumer Credit Counseling Services. The Homeownership Center provides first-time homebuyer educational seminars. In addition, they provide assistance to HUD recertification participants, and anyone with a question regarding home equity finance and refinancing. The mission of the home counseling program is to increase homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families, minorities, recent immigrants, and persons with disabilities; to assist mortgagors or renters at risk of foreclosure or eviction to retain their properties; and most recently, to counsel the elderly, who are interested in the benefits of reverse mortgage.
