Academia Avance is a public charter school designed to address the need for innovative educational alternatives in the Northeast Los Angeles community of Highland Park. The school aims to provide a quality educational program within a small learning community targeting disadvantaged students from grades six to twelve.

Academia Avance combines academic preparation with the development of real-world skills. Each participant graduates prepared with college and career skills that exceed class requirements for the University of California system. Participants benefit from developing successful life-long learning habits and concepts gathered through projects, internships, and multicultural experiences.
