COUNTDOWN TO NCLR ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN LOS ANGELES

More Than 20,000 Expected to Attend the Largest National Hispanic Event of the Year

Washington, DC – The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., will draw some of the nation’s foremost business and community leaders, government officials, and entertainers to participate in the NCLR Annual Conference July 8-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles.

All members of the media interested in attending any of the following events can pick up credentials on-site. Workshops, Town Halls, and Latino Expo USA are free and open to the public; for all other events, members of the general public can register at www.nclr.org/conference.

Saturday, July 8 “Achieving the American Dream in a New Century”
9:00 a.m. Café con Clinton will kick off the 2006 Annual Conference, featuring President Clinton addressing Conference attendees. NOTE: Broadcast equipment must be preset by 6:30 a.m. by request of the U.S. Secret Service.
10:00 a.m. NCLR/NALEO/COFEM Naturalization Application Processing Workshop
10:15 a.m. Latino Expo USA Ribbon-Cutting ceremony will open the free Latino Expo USA, featuring the Homeownership Fair and the Health Fair; Exhibit Hall A
