FREDDIE MAC AND NCLR ANNOUNCE LOCAL HOMEOWNERSHIP PRESERVATION INITIATIVE
CreditSmart® Financial Education, Workshops On Foreclosure Prevention
| WHAT: |
The topics of foreclosure and predatory lending have captured the nation’s attention, and the speakers at this event will examine the value of consumer education in sustaining homeownership. Further, Freddie Mac will announce the launch of its newly updated CreditSmart® financial education curriculum, and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) will present a workshop. The CreditSmart enhancements focus on homeownership preservation, including foreclosure prevention, planning for emergencies, property maintenance, and avoiding financial traps.
Immediately prior to the announcement is a CreditSmart workshop where local housing counselors will boost their skills in the delivery of financial education. Some will be available for interviews to discuss the financial education needs in their communities.
