DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES AND NATIONAL COUNCIL OF LA RAZA TO HOLD BILINGUAL TOWN HALL MEETING WITH THE LATINO COMMUNITY REGARDING THE H1N1 VIRUS

Washington, DC – As part of the ongoing efforts to help prevent and reduce the spread of the H1N1 virus, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) will host a town hall meeting for the Latino community at Mary’s Center on November 18th. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Janet Murguía, President and CEO of NCLR, will open the program.
Top federal government officials from HHS’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, as well as Maria Gomez, President and CEO of Mary’s Center, will respond to questions in Spanish. There will be a press availability immediately following the discussion.
