Picnics, Potlucks, and the Promise of America: Families United for Immigration Reform

Overview

Sitio en Español

Celebrate our nation’s immigrant history and advocate for reform in 2009!

Thank you for choosing to participate in the National Council of La Raza’s (NCLR) campaign, “Picnics, Potlucks, and the Promise of America:  Families United for Immigration Reform.” This nationwide effort you will allow you to bring people together to celebrate our nation’s history and honor the American experience. As a nation, we value innovative solutions to big problems. As a community, we must take this opportunity to call President Obama and all of our elected officials and urge them to pass a workable common-sense solution to the nation’s broken immigration system.

Join advocates from throughout the country in celebrating the Fourth of July with friends and family by calling for immigration reform! This event is designed to include all members of the family, young and old, with activities that include:
·         Drawing pictures of your American family
·         Writing postcards about what America means to you
·         Calling congressional leaders to urge them to reform immigration for families, workers, the economy, and all Americans
