Summary

Voting by absentee ballot is one strategy for encouraging greater electoral participation. It can help many people in our communities who have work schedules that prevent them from getting to the polls on time, lack transportation, or have disabilities that make it difficult to get to a polling place.
This document includes definitions, answers to questions, and appropriate deadlines to keep in mind before you recommend that a registrant apply to become an absentee voter.
