In a phone conversation with Kathleen Pequeño about the over-representation of Latinos in prison, jail, and immigrant detention, Angela Arboleda says, “Of the six million people in the criminal justice system and the 2.2 million people behind bars, approximately 75% are people of color. In the federal system, for example, at least one in six people are Latino and one in four is African American".
