Join NCLR as it honors Luz Social Services, Inc. for their outstanding work to address public health and primary care needs in the Latino community. Since 1971, Luz Social Services, Inc. has provided culturally-competent, community-based prevention and education services for the Latino community in Tucson, Arizona. Throughout its history, Luz Social Services, Inc. has served as a capacity builder for its community, providing technical assistance, guidance, and support to build an infrastructure for learning, substance abuse prevention, and health promotion. Luz Social Services, Inc. currently operates prevention and education programs in five counties throughout Arizona.

This award is given in appreciation of Dr. Helen Rodríguez-Trías' outstanding career—a nationally-recognized health care advocate who dedicated her life to improving women's health and well-being not only throughout the United States but also in Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico. Dr. Rodríguez-Trías' work was crucial in establishing reproductive rights guidelines, ensuring informed consent, and improving the quality of health care for women around the world.
