Education Policy Team
NCLR focuses its education policy and research on the “bookends of education”: early care and education (ECE) opportunities and high school graduation rates. Through our ECE priorities, we work to ensure that all young Latino children have access to high-quality early education, while our efforts at the high school level seek mainly to raise graduation rates for Latino students. We conduct research on both ends of the educational spectrum, and recent publications have included a policy brief on Head Start and a statistical brief on Latino students in the U.S. education system. We look forward to releasing a white paper on Title I of No Child Left Behind in the near future, as well as an issue brief on culturally and linguistically appropriate ECE practices.
