Founded in 1894, Mattie Rhodes Center (MRC) bridges cultures and communities through the arts, mental health and social services. MRC empowers individuals and families through culturally competent, bilingual services in a respectful and compassionate environment. Services are primarily provided (but not limited) to the Hispanic population of Kansas City, Missouri. Program areas include: individual, family and group counseling and case management; domestic violence; parent engagement; youth development; substance abuse prevention and treatment; information and support for Latino families who have a child with a developmental disability; and Latino cultural arts. There is an effort underway to integrate art and counseling services to provide increased results with clients.
