Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) is a community-based nonprofit established in 1963 to bring much-needed services to the Mexican American community of East Los Angeles. Since that time, the organization has grown to provide services in seven California counties and is consistently at the top of Hispanic Business Magazine’s annual survey of the top 25 Hispanic nonprofit organizations in the country. MAOF’s mission is to provide for the socioeconomic betterment of the greater Latino community of California, while preserving the pride, values, and heritage of Mexican American culture. This is accomplished through programs in early childhood education and family services, job training, and senior lifestyle development throughout the multicultural communities served by MAOF.
