Awards

NCLR Family Strengthening Awards

The NCLR Family Strengthening Awards Program presents awards on an annual basis to NCLR Affiliate programs whose work in the Hispanic community has made a measurable impact in strengthening Latino families.

NCLR Affiliate of the Year Award

The NCLR Affiliate of the Year Award is bestowed once annually to an NCLR Affiliate for its exemplary work, overall, in serving its local community and for supporting NCLR's policy and programmatic initiatives.

FSA Peer-to-Peer Trainings

NCLR will arrange for a total of 35 to 45 NCLR Affiliate representatives to attend on-site training sessions in fall 2010 with winners of the 2010 NCLR Family Strengthening Award.

Contests

NCLR Connecting Our Community Contest

Southwest Airlines is answering the Affiliate call for assistance in traveling to attend NCLR events. Three Affiliates will be selected during January, February, March, April, May, and June to win a free roundtrip ticket! These tickets will enable Affiliates to reunite with other Affiliates and the NCLR familia. To enter the contest, Affiliates must simply answer an Affiliate Member Services-related question. Submitting your entry is easy: continue to this contest page for more details on how your Affiliate can win the Connecting Our Community Contest. Entries will be selected at the end of each month. Only one entry per Affiliate per month will be accepted. Winning Affiliates are not eligible to submit entries in subsequent months. Refer to the contest page for a listing of all the contest guidelines.

Grants

NCLR/Comcast Capacity-Building Grant Program

The NCLR/Comcast Capacity-Building Grant Program provides support to eight Affiliates to enhance their capacity to: (a) operate a program in a specific issue area, (b) conduct advocacy work or, (c) improve institutional infrastructure.

NCLR Media Training Presentation

As respected representatives of the Latino community in their state, NCLR Affiliate organizations play an important role in highlighting the dangers of anti-immigrant bills to both the Latino community and the community at large. To ensure that Affiliates are prepared to best represent the issues surrounding these dangerous state bills, on March 22, 2011 NCLR hosted a webinar to provide Affiliates with talking points and other media tips that help shape the narrative surrounding punitive state immigration legislation and make the case against these kinds of damaging policies.
