Community-Building

Learn about programs and strategies that strengthen families and build communities. Workshops in this track feature best practices in leadership development, community engagement and volunteerism, celebration of Latino arts and culture, and building bridges internationally.

Community and Family Wealth-Building

Learn how to build financial security in the Latino community. Workshops in this track focus on initiatives and policies that strengthen communities through homeownership, build Latino families’ wealth, and develop assets for institutions that work each day to help individuals and families live the American Dream. Share in the knowledge and experience of select nonprofit organizations, corporations, and other relevant institutions whose comprehensive and holistic approaches, tools, and resources have a direct impact on the Latino community.

Education

Learn about innovative, new developments in education. Workshops in this track provide effective strategies that can improve the academic achievement of Latino students, and participants will engage in discussions on current and emerging issues in education policies. Topics include professional development for educators, effective curricula, parental engagement, early childhood instruction, and highlights of successful charter and alternative schools.

Health

Improve the health of the Latino community by learning about innovative community-based strategies. Workshops in this track feature information on promotores de salud, effective program evaluation, emerging health policy issues, and increasing community access to health care.

Policy

Improve your organization’s impact and effectiveness. Hear from leaders influencing and shaping the public policy decisions that have an impact on the Hispanic community. Join advocates, elected officials, strategists, and others in these dynamic discussions. Workshops in this track feature legislative and policy briefings, successful advocacy strategies, and innovative tools that will refine your organization’s reach.

Workforce Development

Develop programs and promote policies that improve employment and career prospects for your communities and meet the demands for an educated, skilled workforce. Learn from and engage employers, educators, workforce system experts, and NCLR community-based Affiliates in examining key issues and strategies that effectively tap into and develop the talents of Latinos to strengthen local communities and the nation’s workforce.

Women’s Issues

Learn about programs that promote opportunities for women and issues regarding barriers to gender equality. Hear from today’s top female role models as they share their personal stories. Workshops in this track highlight issues of special concern to the advancement of Latinas.
