Puerto Rico Regional Office – San Juan, PRIn 2000, NCLR established a field office in Puerto Rico to serve as a liaison between Washington, DC programs and Puerto Rico community-based organizations on the Island. Currently, NCLR’s presence in Puerto Rico promotes a better understanding of the challenges that these organizations face. NCLR also provides a Puerto Rico-focused voice on important federal public policy debates that affect the Island. NCLR- Puerto Rico activities have included:

NCLR’s vision is to stimulate the public and private sectors in Puerto Rico, as well as the philanthropic community on the Mainland, to be responsive to the needs of low-income communities on the Island. Our overarching goal is to contribute to change, measured by a stronger community-based/nonprofit sector; positive outcomes for children and families; and the development of public policy that assists low-income families increase their economic mobility.
